Ringette Canada's 50th Anniversary Roadshow- October 16th

2013-10-09

Ringette PEI is hosting the 50th Anniversary Roadshow, including an Activation Festival and a Skills Day, on October 16th at CARI.

This fall, Ringette Canada will head out on a 30 day, 15 city cross-country roadshow and it all starts in Charlottetown on October 16th.

All Ringette PEI members are invited to take part in this exciting event.

When: 5:00pm-8:00pm (on-ice from 5:15-9:15)
Where: MacLauchlan Arenas, CARI, Charlottetown

The roadshow will feature a Ringette Activation Festival, which includes target shooting, a ringette dress up challenge, a design a mask contest, a fun zone with giant games such as Connect-4 and Checkers, a tattoo zone, and other exciting booths. There will also be appearances by Samantha Belle and Junior Jacks, the 50th Anniversary mascots.

There will also be a post-event birthday bash at East Side Mario’s.

In addition to the Roadshow activities, Ringette PEI will be hosting a Skills Day for all players. This on-ice event will feature 5-6 stations where players can demonstrate their passing, forward skating, backward skating, shooting, and agility skating. There will be a station for goaltenders as well.

Ice times start at 5:15 and go to 9:15. It will take roughly 15 minutes for athletes to go through each station (longer for U8 athletes).

All athletes who take part in a registered skills day session will be entered for a chance to win a trip to the 2014 Ringette All Star Weekend in Montreal (March 7-8, 2014) to participate in the All Star Skills Event alongside participants from across the country. PEI is guaranteed 2 spots at the event and one of the winners will be selected on October 16th. The winners are chosen based on participation in a Skills Day event and not on their results at the stations.

We can’t wait to see you all there!

If you are interested in volunteering to help make this an event to remember for all PEI’s ringette players, please contact the office for a list of roles that need to be filled, vvuillemot @ sportpei.pe.ca or 368-6570.
